The 2nd Annual “Hands Across the Arts” took place on Friday, April 3, 2009 at the Nicholas J. Horn Theatre on the College of Southern Nevada’s Cheyenne Campus (3200 E. Cheyenne Ave.) and benefitted the CSN Performing Arts Center and the Ira Aldridge Theatre Company.

The event, sponsored by Cox Communications, honored longtime Las Vegas headliner Clint Holmes with a “Lifetime Performing Arts Award” and Commissioner Lawrence Weekly with a “Lifetime Community Service Award.”

The evening began with a VIP Reception, followed by an awards presentation and a curtain call, that featured the 1964 Broadway hit “The Amen Corner” written by James Baldwin and produced and directed by Walter Mason.

1. "Caryl McCaffrey" Tell Clint CONGRATULATIONS!! I sure would love to be there yet being in Hamburg, NY a little too far to be able to make the trip. I sure wish I could. Years ago a few of us were in Toronto when Clint was awarded "A Golden Record" for Playground In My Mind." My family and I plan to be in Vegas around June 13 - 18........ Clint's performance recently at The Riveria Theatre in N. Tonawanda, NY. Clint was superb, fantastic, magnificent and was so great to see and get to talk with him.....has been many years. Was such a great evening!
